IT WAS SHORTLY AFTER noon when I woke up, took a quick shower, and dressed in the clothes Akira had packed for me. I could still feel my eye twitching with annoyance at him. He had packed all the graphic tees that I had since high school that were too tight and my breasts threatened to rip the fabric. But it was either the clean tees or my shirt from yesterday that was stinky and gross. I had pulled on the loosest shirt, which wasn’t by much, that had Donatello from The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on it.

Akira was in the living room, reading the book that he had brought with him. He was lounging on the couch, his limbs loose, but it was his clothing that had me blinking for a few seconds. He was wearing jeans that looked like they were painted on him and a muscle tank that showed off his perfect biceps and clung to his stomach, highlighting his abs. They were tight and possibly too small.

He flashed me a grin at me before returning to his book. Lucien was in the kitchen, it looked like he was putting together a quick brunch of cereal and fruit. It wasn’t until I saw Lucien looking at Akira out of the corner of his eye when he didn’t think he was watching when it hit me why Akira was dressed like a slut for hire. He was trying to seduce Lucien with his body. I had to turn around and quickly bite my hand to stop the laughter that threatened to overflow. My angry puffball was pulling out all the stops to get into Lucien’s pants.

“Good morning.” I turned around after composing myself and sat a little away from Akira so that Lucien would have to sit between us. He didn’t have a dining table or barstool, so it looked like he used the coffee table when he ate.

“Good morning sunshine, the earth says hello.” Akira didn’t look up from his book.

I snorted. “Really? Charlie and the Chocolate Factory?” He was such a dork.

“Mmm. It seemed appropriate.” He placed his book on the coffee table as Lucien came into the room, balancing four bowls between his hands. Akira stood and grabbed two of the bowls and flashed his teeth at Lucien. “Thanks for feeding us.”

“It’s the least I can do.” Lucien acted like he hadn’t been eyeing Akira in the kitchen. He placed a bowl of Lucky Charms in front of me and the other bowl held the fruit, which he laid on the table between all of us. He thanked Akira when he gave Lucien his bowl of cereal and I watched in amusement as Akira made sure to touch Lucien’s fingers.

“I love Lucky Charms.” I grinned at Lucien as he sat next to me. I noticed he was closer to me than Akira. “I usually steal Akira’s marshmallows.”

Akira huffed and started to eat his cereal. “You’re not getting these marshmallows and Lola isn’t here to help you take them.
